Ambassador of Pakistan to Indonesia H.E. Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and Indonesia’s Institute Pertanian Bogor (IPB) University to strengthen academic collaboration, joint research, and faculty-student exchanges.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador underlined that Pakistan and Indonesia enjoy longstanding ties, particularly in agriculture and commerce. He noted that agriculture contributes about 20 percent to Pakistan’s economy and 14 percent to Indonesia’s, highlighting the vast potential for enhanced cooperation. He emphasized that the academic partnership between leading universities of both countries would serve as a foundation for innovation, food security, and sustainable growth, while also deepening institutional linkages.
The MoU opens new avenues for knowledge-sharing, joint initiatives, and capacity-building in the agricultural sector. The event was also attended virtually by officials of the Embassy of Indonesia in Islamabad.
