He joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan on 30 September 1993. Mr Chaudhri has served at key positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad and at Pakistan Missions abroad.
Prior to his appointment as Ambassador to Indonesia, he served as the Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Australia. He had also served as the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Additional Secretary responsible for Asia Pacific.

Mr Chaudhri has earlier served as Director General (Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey), Director General (South Asia & SAARC), Director (India), Deputy Director (South East Asia and the Pacific), Deputy Director (Economic Coordination) and Assistant Director (Personnel)  at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has also served as Director General (Economic Coordination) at President’s Secretariat and Joint Secretary (National Security) at the National Security Division.

He has earlier served at key Pakistani Missions abroad including the Embassy of Pakistan, Washington DC, USA; High Commission for Pakistan, London, United Kingdom;  the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai, UAE.
He holds an LLM (International Economic and Trade Law) degree from the University of London, United Kingdom and MBA from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He is also an alumnus of the American University and the National Defence University, Washington DC.

Mr Chaudhri is married to Dr Sabina Zahid. They have a daughter and a son.
